TGIN GOES PINK

If you’ve been keeping up with us on social media, then you have seen us partnerning with many natural hair influencers for our Pink Ambassador Program. With our CEO, Chris-Tia Donaldson being a survivor of breast cancer, we make it our mission to not only give back to communities that are at high risk of contracting breast cancer but also keeping women informed especially during the month of October which is breast cancer awareness month.

What is the Pink Ambassador Program?

The first of its kind in the Chicagoland area, the Pink Ambassador program addresses the social and cultural issues that contribute to breast cancer health disparities in African American women. Pink Ambassadors are  breast health advocates who interact with women at community events and offer guidance on everything from monthly self-exams to free mammogram resources for African-American women. They speak directly to the African American woman’s unique health concerns so that she feels empowered to be an advocate for her breast health!

Our Mission/What does the tgin Foundation do?

The tgin Foundation is a 501©(3) not for profit organization founded by the CEO of Thank God It’s Natural, Chris-Tia Donaldson. Our mission is to support uninsured women undergoing treatment for breast cancer, and raise awareness of the impact of health disparities on survivor outcomes. We also leverage grassroots events and social media strategy to highlight the importance of early detection for women under the age of 40.

Why does the tgin Foundation exist?

When CEO of Thank God It’s Natural, Chris-Tia Donaldson was diagnosed with breast cancer at the young age of 36, she witnessed first hand how having money made the difference between living and dying when it came to this disease. In the city of Chicago, African-American women are 42% more likely to die from breast cancer than the general population. However, this number drops to 19% in cities like New York and 0% in places like San Francisco.  One of the primary factors for this difference in outcome are largely financial reasons (e.g. transportation, child care, lack of sick leave, safety net hospitals with dated technology, etc.).

In an effort to give back, Chris-Tia created the tgin Foundation to specifically address this issue and provide financial assistance to women in need who are battling breast cancer, as well as stress the importance of listening to your body to young women.

How does this relate to the Green Tea Super Moist Leave in Conditioner?

Our Green Tea Super Moist Leave in Conditioner is one of the many ways that tgin gives back. Proceeds from sales of the conditioner go directly to the tgin foundation. Each time you purchase the condtioner you are benfitting a women in need.
