    Tis the season of pumpkin everything! Whether you’re a fan of the pumpkin flavor or not, there happen to be a ton of great benefits found in pumpkin for skin and hair. If you’re ready to jump on, or are already riding the pumpkin bandwagon, these recipes will help you use up all those left over halloween pumpkins!

    DIY Pumpkin Face Mask

    Pumpkins are full of Vitamins A, C, and E which all aid in making skin look youthful and bright! This skin brightening mask helps to bring out skin’s natural glow effortlessly. Here’s what you’ll need:

    • 2 tablespoons fresh pumpkin puree
    • 1 teaspoon raw honey
    • 1 teaspoon of nutmeg
    • 1 teaspoon apple cider vinegar

    Combine all ingredients and mix well until you get a thick consistency. Apply the mask to freshly washed skin and leave on for up to 20 minutes. This mask helps to lighten dark spots while boosting collagen production and reducing the signs of aging.

    Pumpkin and Coconut hot oil treatment

    Pumpkins are also great at restoring hair health and defining curls. This hot oil treatment helps to nourish hair while alleviating flyaways and split ends.

    Heres what you’ll need:

    1 cup cooked and cubed fresh pumpkin

    3-4 tbsp coconut oil

    1 tbsp jojoba oil (optional)

    You Will Need:

    Blender / food processor

    Small bowl

    Hair mask brush (optional)

    Sarang wrap or shower cap

    How to:

    • Add all the ingredients into your blender and mix until well-blended.
    • Gently heat
    • Apply the hair mask as you would your typical hot oil treatment
    • Be careful to apply when it is cool enough not to burn you
    • Wrap hair up in sarang wrap a shower cap or plastic bag.
    • Leave for an hour
    • Rinse well
