Natural Hair Tip of the Week: Another Way to Use a Wig Cap

Now, before there is any getting bent out of shape over seeing the word “wig” — we are not suggesting covering your hair this Winter with a wig. Although there is nothing wrong with chosing to wear a wig from time to time if you chose to do so!
What we are suggesting…is another use for a wig cap that you may not have thought of yet!
If you straighten your hair, but don’t want to touch up your roots every day until next wash day for fear of heat damage, wear a wig cap while you sleep to help flatten your roots. Either twist your hair in 4-6 chunky twists and pull back into an almost ponytail — then cover with wig cap — or, slick your hair back as best as you can into an almost ponytail (don’t actually tie it or you will wake up with a dent) and secure your wig cap over your hair. Roll the remaining ends and tuck into the wig cap as well.
The next morning, when you take off the wig cap, your roots will lay much flatter than they would normally if you slept without one!
Stay natural!
