Trend Alert: Bantu Knots Blac Chyna Style

Though some of the world may have been introduced to bantu knots when celebrities like Blac Chyna, Dej Loaf, Amandla Stenberg and Rihanna rocked them, black women, naturals specifically have been rocking this hairstyle for years. Often used as a styling method for heatless curls, bold women everywhere have been choosing to rock bantu knots for decades! Here is how you too can seamlessly rock bantu knots!

The beautiful thing about bantu knots is they can be done on damp or dry hair. Start by shampooing and conditioning your hair with tgin’s Moisture Rich Sulphate Free Shampoo and Triple Moisture Replenishing Conditioner. Next detangle  with a wide tooth comb and apply your favorite tgin leave in.

Next, section hair. If you want larger bantu knots use larger sections and for smaller knots you will use smaller sections. Grab a plastic spray bottle filled with water to keep your hair damp during the twisting process. Twist sections from root to ends, then in a circle motion wrap the hair until it forms a secure ball like shape on your head then secure with a bobby pin. Continue this method until your entire hair is in bantu knots. If you want a more slick look like Blac Chyna’s, apply an edge control or gel to roots.

Once you have completed your full head you can either sit under the dryer or allow your hair to dry. Check out this video to get a full tutorial on bantu knots.

Will you be rocking bantu knots?
