So the tgin Moist Collection for Natural Hair  is adding a new member to the family. Due to popular demand and a few nicety emails, we took on the task of developing a leave in conditioner. Well anyone that knows me, knows that it takes me forever and a day to develop a product.  I’m an absolute perfectionist in pretty much anything related to product development, operations and marketing.  For instance, when we were working on our Butter Cream Daily Moisturizer, it took me over two years and about 75+ samples just to get it right. And guess what, the work paid off, because its one of our best-sellers to this day.

Well, we’ve been in the lab, the kitchen and the shower working on bringing you the lightweight leave-in conditioner that your curls have been craving. When we started, I knew I wanted a product with:

  • good slip
  • good consistency
  • that didn’t flake
  • that would make detangling a breeze
  • that left the hair soft and moisturized
  • that didn’t have any of the bad stuff in it (sulfates, parabens, petrolatum, lanolin, etc.)

I love Green Tea and drink it for breakfast every morning

I also knew that I wanted it to be chocked full of my favorite natural ingredients, like argan oil, cocoa butter and shea butter, but most importantly green tea. Green tea is a good source of panthenol, which is often used in shampoos and conditioners to strengthen hair and manage split ends. It’s also packed  with antioxidants that help to keep your hair healthier and growing at an optimal rate. Finally, if you’ve got dandruff or suffer from dry itchy scalp, green tea is believed to exfoliate the dry flakes that are formed as a result of dandruff.

In any given weekend, I have four leave in conditioners to try.

Leave In Names
Coming up with names for our new leave in conditioner with our customers on IG

Well, given that I now know my way around the kitchen and lab, we’ve made a lot of progress in a much shorter amount of time.  So, hopefully, by February 2015, our leave in conditioner will be coming to a store near you real soon.

Right now we’re trying to think up names, so if you have anything in mind feel free to email me at christia@tginatural.com. If you come up with an idea better than the one I have, you’ll win a $100 gift certificate and free leave in conditioner for a year. Pretty neat, right?
